ONLINE VIRTUAL THERAPY HOUSTON, TX

Begin Your Journey

Step into a space where healing, growth, and deeper connection become possible.

Life can feel overwhelming. Being human isn’t simple – and when relationships and stress pile up, it can feel like too much. At Nina Counseling, we are passionate about helping teens (13+) and adults of all ages navigate life’s challenges with compassion and clarity. In this safe, supportive space, we lean into what’s uncomfortable — with gentleness and curiosity — and move together toward a life that feels more like your own. Let us help you build a life worth living.

I truly believe that each person experiences life through a unique lens shaped by upbringing, personal history, and culture. I am committed to understanding your story and how your relationships affect your life. My approach is relational, collaborative, and culturally sensitive, providing a safe space to explore your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and patterns while reflecting on how your past and present are connected. Together, we build meaningful connections—listening, talking, understanding, and creating new meaning.

I work with teens (13+) and adults of all ages navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, and life or career transitions. Currently, I offer virtual therapy only. My work is integrative, drawing from psychodynamic therapy, attachment-based work, existential approaches, and trauma-informed care. I also have additional training in somatic psychotherapy and EMDR. Understanding your early experiences can help reveal patterns in your life today. I’m passionate about creating a supportive space where you can begin to understand yourself and your past more clearly, make peace with the things that can and cannot be changed, and approach your life, work, and relationships in new ways.

The Mysteries in Growth

I know firsthand what it’s like to move to a new country and start over, learning to adapt and build a life from scratch. True growth often requires someone to hold space for us—to witness, support, and accompany us through change.

I’ve discovered that the mysteries of growth can also emerge through creative outlets: music, art, dance and time spent with people we can connect with and laugh alongside. Growth is not just about self-knowledge—it’s about connection and creativity, opening doors to new possibilities in your life and relationships.

My experience includes inpatient and outpatient settings, private practice, and nonprofits, including a nationally ranked hospital. I have worked with clients facing complex mental health challenges including chronic depression, suicidality, psychosis, personality disorders, and complex trauma. I have experience working with couples and families and supporting individuals by integrating spirituality and values-based living when it supports their wellbeing.

Originally from Yugoslavia, I’m bilingual in English and Serbian and an identical twin, which gives me a unique perspective on family dynamics and sibling relationships. I hold a master’s in Christian counseling and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. I have over 15 years of experience teaching teens and working in corporate settings, where I’ve seen how stress affects mental health. My background helps me connect with a wide range of clients, including students, professionals, and parents, supporting them in building resilience and reaching their goals.

“All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story or tell a story about them. But if we cannot find a way of telling our story, our story tells us- we dream these stories, we develop symptoms, or we find ourselves acting in ways we don’t understand. “
